ABOUT ME...
I was born in Hereford, which is a county I still love for its quiet natural beauty. I was a chorister at Hereford Cathedral, which gave me a brilliant musical education (approx. 12 practices and 8 services a week.) From my early teens I loved improvising at the piano and writing music. I was a pupil at Hereford Cathedral school, then organ scholar at St. Peter’s College, Oxford University. I have a B.A. (1st class) in Music from Oxford. I spent some time in London and abroad before returning to Hereford to teach piano, eventually marrying and settling in Worcester. My wife Claire is a fiddler from Scotland who grew up playing traditional Scottish and Irish tunes, and my music has changed to reflect this influence. We have 3 boys - James, David and Michael.

I teach piano at Worcester Sixth Form College and other schools in Worcestershire. I also teach privately. I enjoy a huge range of music, and can teach classical music (from Medieval to post-Modern), pop music, jazz and folk. Claire also teaches violin and piano, especially folk fiddle.
